    Masonic Author

I was initiated into Lodge Harmony 3084EC in Nairobi, Kenya in 1990 and Raised almost exactly a year later. A few years after that, I joined Lodge Scotia 1008SC (we were lucky in Nairobi...the English, Scottish and Irish constitution Lodges as well as their appendant bodies used the same building.) I joined a Scottish Chapter and within its ranks I did my Mark, Excellent Master and Royal Arch degrees. I later also joined Rose Croix shortly before leaving Kenya to live and work in UK.

Back in England I was working as a school teacher at Bromsgrove School and joined the Old Bromsgrovian Lodge which meets in the old school chapel. I went through the Chair in that Lodge, serving as Master in 2013. I was a founder member of the Old Bromsgrovian Chapter and was the first person the go through all 3 Principals' Chairs. In recent years I was appointed as Acting Provincial Grand Junior Deacon in the Provincial Grand Lodge of Worcestershire. (I'm now Past Provincial Grand Sword Bearer.) I'm also PPGSteward in the Worcestershire Provincial Grand Chapter.

I’ve always been more interested in the daily application of Masonic values than in the study of the historical roots of our Craft. I’ve been described as a ‘devotional’ Freemason and I suppose that that is true: my Masonry is very much about how our Masonic understanding of ourselves and our relationship with our Creator can and should support us to live lives that are marked by kindness, understanding and love, and lead us to a true realisation of Brotherhood with all of mankind.

My books reflect this philosophy. I hope you will find them inspiring and uplifting - a daily moment of focus on the Masonic values that, I believe, will make us better men.

  • Supporting My Work:

Obviously, the easiest way to support my work is to buy my books and encourage others to do likewise.
There is, however, another way; an ancient and honourable way that recognises and respects the mutuality of the relationship between Artist/Creative and those who buy and support their work: that of Patronage.

If it was good enough for Shakespeare and Queen Elizabeth I, then it's certainly good enough for me.

In these difficult times, Patronage is once again proving to be a perfect tool to allow Artists and their Supporters to connect in meaningful ways and one of the means through which it is happening is a website called Patreon.

If you feel you can spare a small amount of money to help support my work as a Masonic Writer and Educator - even just $2 a month - you will be entering into a relationship with me that,
I hope, will give you as much as it gives me.
